The patented Cleansport NXT technology has only been used in the more expensive Winnwell hockey gear models in recent years. This year, the material with NXT technology is also found in the GX-4 series of pads. What does Cleansport NXT technology do? The technology helps keep your gear (in this case hockey pants) free of unwanted bacteria and odors. Cleansport NXT can safely and most importantly healthfully remove all bacteria, eliminating unwanted odors from hockey gear.

How works Cleansport NXT

• Hidden "sleeping" layer of NXT friendly microbes applied by impregnation on the surface
• When in contact with organic materials, these microbes "wake up" and start producing enzymes.
• The job of enzymes is to destroy organic matter before harmful bacteria
• NXT microbes are incorporated into the material for the same reason as in food. The work of friendly NXT microbes is faster than that of harmful ones.

If the material is fully digested:

• All that's left is water and carbon dioxide
• Enzymes are not biodegradable and disappear
• Parental microbes remain bound to the coated surface
