Specifically, the 18-year-old super-talent will be using the top model in the Rekker series, the Rekker Legend Pro, which will be unveiled later this month.
In a statement he said : " I am really excited to join the Sherwood team. From the moment I started working with Sherwood to develop hockey equipment that I thought would improve my game, I have been really impressed with their attitude, expertise and commitment to producing the best equipment. They do a lot of great things around the sport I love and I'm proud to be a part of it."
Founded in 1949 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Sherwood is best known in the history of the sport for its wooden sticks, and later its fiberglass-reinforced wooden sticks. The iconic Sherwood PMP 5030 Featherlite wood and fiberglass sticks have been used by millions of players from rookies to NHL players.
Sherwood still makes wood and fiberglass hockey sticks, but most of its models - and most of the hockey sticks that hockey players have been using for nearly 20 years - are made with various blends of composite materials. A new "low kickpoint" Rekker Pro model will debut this season in pro and retail stores.
Sherwood, which was acquired by Canadian Tire Corporation in 2018, is repositioning its brand and upgrading its product line with a new generation of elite players starting in 2020.
Connor Bedard joins an already stellar team of players using Sherwood sticks, including Matthew Tkachuk, William Nylander, Alex DeBrincat, Quinton Byfield, Emily Clark, Artturi Lehkonen, Saroya Tinker, Connor Brown and Savannah Harmon.
